Trump's Granddaughter Gets Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Before LPGA Debut
The rising star boasts impressive online audience
The young golfer will have multiple prominent backers when she makes her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, received a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, operates several courses worldwide and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa basically suggested to compete and have fun," she explained.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with presidential duties, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
But she can get advice from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He stands as the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"And he's an even better human being. He advised me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."
Kai will face some of top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that Kai's presence brings the sport to new audiences, particularly reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and just introduced a personal clothing and lifestyle label.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
