The Music Icon Plays a Hell Version of Her Own Identity in Satirical Film First Look

Charli XCX is gearing up for a major big screen appearance in 2026, beginning with the satirical film titled The Moment.

Within the project, the artist embodies what she refers to as a hell version of her public image.

It’s the realest depiction of the music industry that I’ve ever encountered, the performer stated.

She elaborated in a discussion: It’s far from a live performance documentary, yet the concept came from the demand to produce one.

An Early Look into The Project

The initial preview, released on this week, blends authentic footage from Charli’s Sweat tour with made-up backstage scenes.

The mockumentary is overseen and co-authored by her collaborator, who explained that the plot centers on a world where the artist opted for alternate decisions during the marketing of her hugely successful record Brat.

A Hectic Movie Lineup

This project is a single one of many forthcoming screen roles for the star, who already appeared in three independent movies this year.

  1. Personal narrative Erupcja
  2. Satirical comedy thriller Sacrifice
  3. LGBTQ+ fantasy 100 Nights of Hero

She also took on her own role in the humorous show Overcompensating.

Future Ventures

The coming year will also feature the star alongside Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in art world thriller The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.

She also signed on to appear in the actress’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.

I’m deeply appreciating my acting journey, she expressed. I feel very, very inspired at the moment in that field, and I always choose to take on roles that stimulate me.

Soundtrack Involvement

The month of February will also bring the launch of the director’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will include new music from Charli.

She will also create the soundtrack for the drama Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released soon.

The Moment is set to premiere on January 30.
