Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans shared its support for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
